This year's United Nations Day of Vesak conference will focus on “Education and Global Citizenship: A Buddhist Perspective” . The gathering seeks global solidarity for peaceful and sustainable development by using education as an essential tool to empower humanity. Through knowledge and wisdom, participants can comprehend the idea of global citizenship and discover what is Global Education. There will be another discussion: “Contributions of the Buddhist Sangha for Education and Humanity” , which aims to discuss how the Sangha gives guidance, wisely and peacefully to others. These are all aspects of the Buddhadhamma that are preserved by the diligent efforts of the monastic traditions, for the benefit of all beings, so they can be free from suffering.
