Mr. Supachai Chearavanont Supachai Chearavanont is the Chairman of the Executive Committee of CP Orange where he is responsible for expanding the company's penetration into the Thai wirefree communications market. He is also in charge of identifying and exploiting the synergies that exist between CP Orange and TelecomAsia. Supachai also holds the position of President and CEO of TelecomAsia, one of the largest public telecommunications companies in Thailand. In this position he is responsible for determining corporate strategy, developing programs that take advantage of the firm's fixed-line telecommunications infrastructure, and guiding the company into new markets. Joining TelecomAsia in 1992, Supachai has held several management and executive level positions in the organisation's operations and planning departments including senior vice president for operations and senior vice president for planning and project coordination and support. In 1995 he served as COO of UTV cable television, a subsidiary of TelecomAsia. Supachai has also founded a number of key TA subsidiary companies including Asia Wireless Communication Company Limited which operates the PCT telephone system, Asia Infonet Company Limited the organization's Internet operations company, and Asia Multimedia Company Limited which is responsible for broadband communications. He has also founded the Wire & Wireless Company Limited subsidiary, which is engaged in communications infrastructure construction and equipment distribution. During the Asian financial crisis, which began in 1997, Supachai was responsible for completing the restructuring of the company's debt profile. He then oversaw the company's revitalization, which allowed it to regain its competitive position in the market. In the aftermath of the Asia financial crisis Supachai successfully developed and executed innovative marketing programs, which helped to stabilize TelecomAsia's financial situation and extend the firm's revenue base. Prior to joining TelecomAsia, Supachai served as the senior finance officer at Vinythai Company, a major Thai petrochemicals firm.
