Dr. Siddharth Singh is teaching Pali Language, literature and Buddhist Studies at Under-graduate and Post-graduate level and supervising Ph. D. research scholars for last 12 years as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U.), Varanasi, India.
He has been honoured by prestigious "President Award" for his contribution to Pali& Buddhist Studies in the year 2005 and "The Japan Foundation Fellowship" in Year 2003. He has published two books namely Saddhammasangaho (History of Buddhism till 13th Century) and Jinacarita (a biography of the Buddha) and several national and international research papers and articles in Hindi, English and Japanese.
Dr. Siddharth has also been Visiting Professor in Sweden twice in 2006 and 2008 respectively and was selected for Visiting Professor Mongolia in 2009. He has presented papers in the different esteemed conferences held in India and abroad e.g. at the countries like Thailand, Myanmar, and Sweden etc.
Dr. Singh's major interest area is Pali literature and Theravada Buddhism; however, he looks at Buddhism with non-sectarian views and has dealt and written a few papers on Mahayana Buddhism also. His current research interest is the application of Buddhist ideas in the present world.
