Ven. Dr. Walmoruwe Piyaratana Sri Lanka Cut Desire But Not The Tree: Buddhist Eco-Ethical Concepts To Overcome The Present Environmental Crisis Ven. Dr. W. Piyaratana received a Bachelor's Degree with First Class (PâliSpecial) from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and Master's of Arts Degrees from the Buddhist and Pali University in Sri Lanka and the MCU in Thailand. He earned his Doctorate Degree in Buddhist Studies from the same university. He served as a Temporary Lecturer at the Department of Pâli and Buddhist Studies, University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka for two years and International Buddhist College, Hatyai for several years. Currently, he is working as the lecturer at the Faculty of Buddhism and the Graduate School of MCU. Further he is working as research advisor at the Buddhist Research Institute of MCU.
